Teddy Bear Academy Students Celebrate the End of Summer
The Teddy Bear Academy in Marlton held a luau dance party for students today to celebrate the last official day of summer vacation. There was a lot of dancing, a few pools and a lot of fun.
The future of the Teddy Bear Academy is still unknown and remains in the hands of the st
ate Commissioner of Education. The TBA was ordered shut down by a state judge, after a complaint was filed by Under the Sun Learning Center of Marlton against the Evesham Township Board of Education, which operates the TBA. A state judge ruled the Board of Education does not have the authority to run a daycare, open to infants and non-residents of Evesham Township inside a school building.
The New Jersey Commissioner of Education has the authority to step in and make a final decision. Dr. Lamont Repollet, has until October 19th to adopt, modify, or reject the court’s decision, otherwise the court’s decision becomes final. If he adopts the court’s ruling, then a 30-day shut-down of the Teddy Bear Academy would begin the process of shutting down.
