Police Recover $100,000 in Jewelry and Handbags
Evesham Township Police Detectives arrested a Camden women accused of stealing $100,000 in stolen items from a Marlton home. On July 17, the officers arrived at the 700 block of Roberts Lane for a home burglary that allegedly happened within the past hour. The detectives found the suspect had entered the home through an unlocked rear door. Police say, once inside, the burglar ransacked the home stealing approximately $100,000.00 worth of jewelry and handbags. Evesham police moved fast, canvassing the area, which they say led to identifying a suspect. They were able to get a search warrant for the suspect’s home in Camden. Later that day, Evesham Detectives with the assistance of the Camden Metro Police Department executed the search warrant at the Camden home of 20 year-old Mirella Reyes. During the search, investigators located and recovered the victims stolen property, seized $24,000 in cash and a Honda Accord that was allegedly used in the burglary. Reyes was arrested and charged with 3rd degree burglary and 2nd degree theft. She was release on her own recognizance.
