Philadelphia Man Arrested in Stalking Case
Evesham Township Police have arrested a man, accused of stalking a Marlton woman for nearly a decade. Police say on May 18, a woman arrived at the Evesham Police Department to report that she had been stalked and harassed by an unknown person for nearly ten years. According to police, the woman says she received cards, letters and inappropriate gifts a few times each year. But, she reported the activity had increased recently, consisting of fictitious craigslist ads, gifts left in her home mailbox, and letters and inappropriate gifts sent to her employer.
The woman was unable to identify a possible suspect or why someone would be targeting her. Evesham Detectives prepared and served numerous online internet sites and service providers with court subpoenas. From those records, investigators were able to identify a possible suspect, a male who graduated high school with the victim in 1988. On June 11, 2018, the suspect, 47 year-old Ronald Murphy of Philadelphia, was located and arrested following an interview with investigators. He is charged with 4th degree stalking and is being held in the Burlington County Jail without bail.
