Cops Bust Suspect in $77k High End Jewelry Store Theft
A Delaware man is arrested for allegedly robbing $77,000 in jewelry from a high end Burlington County jewelry store. Last October, $77,000 in jewelry was stolen from Billig Jewelers, located on Route 73 in Evesham Township. Investigators for Evesham Police say they discovered the same suspect had conducted similar thefts in the area. Police say five other areas in New Jersey and Pennsylvania were also hit. As a result, local police departments got together and created a task force in an effort to identify and arrest the suspect.
During the investigation, an Evesham Township Detective determined that a similar theft occurred three times in Maryland. Cops were able to get physical evidence from one of the incidents in Maryland, which led to a break in the cases in New Jersey and Pennsylvania. In January, the Evesham Police Department issued an arrest warrant for 22-year-old Michael Larbi, from Dover, Delaware. He was arrested Wednesday in Delaware by the US Marshal’s Office and is being charged with 2nd degree theft.
